«Глонасс» разработала сим-карту для управления беспилотниками

The development will make it possible to control the flight through mobile networks

JSC «Glonass» and IT-company «Iks-pro» have created a built-in X-SIM card for controlling the flights of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The development will help to control drones not only with the help of GPS trackers, but also outside the line of sight through mobile networks.

X-SIM is not a physical SIM card. Its profile is loaded into the memory of the drone in encrypted form.

The Glonass communication system will allow drones to receive a signal from base stations via a SIM card and transmit it to each specified point.

Manufacturers and operators want to get a built-in device for monitoring flights and over-the-horizon drone control, which does not need external recharging and which will be operational in various weather conditions.
Alexey Raikevich, General Director of «Glonass»

The key task of the project is to monitor flights and control drones in the cellular coverage area.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian military tested the FPV drone control system over fiber «Groza-Leska».
