Боевая эволюция: ЗРК С-400 «Триумф» и С-300 «Фаворит» научили работать по наземным целям благодаря ЗУР 5В55Р

S-300 and S-400 Enter the Mode of Operational-Tactical Missile Systems

Russian S-300 "Favorit" and S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile systems have begun operating on the front lines in "surface-to-surface" mode thanks to 5V55R medium-range and 48N6D long-range anti-aircraft guided missiles. In the operational-tactical ballistic modification, the maximum range is 150-170 km.

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that modifications of these SAMs are equipped with GLONASS/GPS correction modules and inertial navigation units, which will provide a circular error probable (CEP) of no more than 10-15 m from the target. This allows the S-300PS/PM1 and S-400 SAM systems to implement the mode of operational-tactical missile systems.

He recalled that in earlier versions of the S-300PS SAM system, the "surface-to-surface" mode had already been implemented, which provided a small CEP only within the radio horizon (up to 35 km), but the 30N6 PAR radar provided accurate tracking of the SAM in the terminal section of the trajectory and provided radio correction up to target engagement.

With the advent of GLONASS correction modules, the beyond-the-horizon circular error probable of the strike versions of the 5V55R and 48N6DM SAMs reached the indicators of 300-mm guided rockets 9M544/549 of the "Tornado-S" MLRS. All this makes the S-300 and S-400 SAM systems dual-purpose complexes – a destroyer of both air and ground targets.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian "Tornado-G" MLRS has been modernized. Improvements have been made to communications, ammunition, and control.
