The Russian anti-aircraft missile and gun system "Pantsir-S1" destroyed a low-altitude, low-speed strike kamikaze drone "Lyutyi". Vivid footage has gone viral on the Web.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev clarified that the drone was successfully eliminated by the combat interceptor stage of the high-speed anti-aircraft guided missile 57E6.
The interception was performed at an echelon of about 75 m at a distance of about 10 - 12 km with a flight speed of the combat stage of about 850 - 700 m/s.
Damantsev also added that with a dense, equidistant distribution of the SAMGMs on the ground in missile-hazardous directions, the effectiveness of such zonal-objective air defense barriers can reach 95 - 97%.
The "Pantsir-S1" is distinguished by the presence of combined missile and gun armament, short reaction time, and the ability of the combat vehicle to conduct reconnaissance and destroy aerial targets on the move.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian military on the front has a new way to load machine gun belts using a clever homemade device.
