РАН выявит фундаментальные проекты, способные обеспечить технологическое лидерство России

The Scientific and Technical Council of the RAS will play an important role in the examination of large projects

At the International Forum of Technological Development "Technoprom-2024" in Novosibirsk, the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Stepan Kalmykov, announced a new experiment aimed at assessing the long-term demand for projects implemented within the framework of the program of fundamental scientific research (FSR). This experiment is aimed at identifying projects that can significantly influence Russia's technological leadership and bring significant benefits to the state in the future.

Kalmykov emphasized that the experiment will study how FSR projects can maintain their relevance for three, five, or even seven years. The assessment will be carried out in cooperation with high-tech companies and state corporations, which will be able to offer promising topics for research. A key aspect of the analysis will be the possibility of achieving a breakthrough in technologies, which will strengthen Russia's technological sovereignty and leadership.

The Vice-President of the RAS noted that the demand for projects may depend on regional characteristics and the expert activities of the academy. The Scientific and Technical Council of the RAS will play an important role in the examination of large national projects proposed for implementation. The STC will provide a rapid and high-quality assessment of such projects, which will allow them to be promptly submitted to the commission on scientific and technological development.
