Russia's military-industrial complex needs to prioritize launching large-scale production of the Iskander-1000 medium-range missile system with a higher-impulse solid propellant rocket engine (SRM) and a new missile with an increased range of over 1000 km. This viewpoint was expressed by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He explained that classic ground launchers with IR/Radar/UV signature reduction kits "Nakidka" are capable of covertly moving to firing positions, unlike carriers of strategic cruise missiles Kh-101, 3M14T "Kalibr-PL/NK", as well as aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" - Tu-95MS missile carriers, surface ships, and MiG-31K.
Infrared and ultraviolet reconnaissance satellites detect the heat-contrast plume of the SRM rocket at the moment of launch, when the rocket enters the ascending branch of the trajectory, and the remaining cruise and terminal sections of the trajectory are covered in 3.5 - 5 minutes. This time "window" will not be enough for the enemy to move equipment in a timely manner. Moreover, there will be no time to deploy batteries of the "Patruit PAC-3MSE" and SAMP-T SAM systems.
At the same time, in the case of Kinzhal missiles and their MiG-31K carriers, the warning time for a missile threat is about 15 - 25 minutes, which provides the enemy with a certain opportunity to maneuver, while in the case of the Kh-101 and carriers, the strike warning is carried out in 3 - 5 hours.
The priority task should be the production of medium- and shorter-range missile systems, about 1000 - 2000 km on highly mobile ground platforms. In the USA, this class includes "Dark Eagle". In Russia, the R-26 "Rubezh" and - "Iskander-1000", in China - DF-21 and a number of other complexes, the number of which in service is estimated at thousands of units.
In July, the first photos of a prototype of an unknown operational-tactical missile system, which was named "Iskander-1000", appeared on the Web. Damantsev then suggested that the system's characteristics would allow it to eliminate the launchers of the Gryphon and LRHW Dark Eagle missile systems in Germany.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a huge mother UAV-repeater for launching smaller drones was developed in Russia. Thanks to it, it is possible to increase the range of air strikes against the enemy.
