Первые в мире!: беспилотную «Ласточку» поставили на рельсы

The train will carry passengers on the MCD

The company "Russian Railways" (RZD) launched an unmanned "Lastochka" train on the MCD. This was reported by the company's press service.

The train is controlled by a neural network. Artificial intelligence automatically makes decisions and assesses the situation during the journey.

Despite this, the driver is in the train cab to control the opening and closing of doors at stops. If necessary, he can take control.

Today is a truly historic event – we have launched unmanned traffic on railway transport. We are the first not only in Russia, but also in the world. There have been no passenger trains in regular service on наземном railway transport with Level 3 automation in the world so far.
Oleg Belozerov, head of RZD

All software and neural networks are developed in Russia.

Technical tests of machine vision and all onboard systems for the fourth level of automation are planned for mid-2025. This will allow the "Lastochka" to run on the route without a driver.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a fully unmanned train will be launched in Moscow in 2026.
