Russia plans to expand the production of the fifth-generation Su-57 'Felon' multirole fighter by building new facilities at the KnAAZ plant. This was reported by the Western publication Defence blog.
It is expected that a building for testing the aircraft's fuel system will be erected at the plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and a hangar for testing and integrating airborne radio-electronic equipment will be completed. The modernization of the workshops is financed by the state and UAC.
These developments are key to scaling up the serial production of the Su-57, writes Defence blog.
The expansion of the plant's capacity will also include the construction of the third stage of galvanic production at the expense of state investments, as well as a large-scale reconstruction of other facilities.
The Su-57 was created to compete with the most advanced aircraft in the world. Its development was an important milestone for Russia in maintaining its advantage in military aviation.
The aircraft features advanced stealth technology, super-maneuverability, and a comprehensive suite of onboard systems designed for air superiority and precision strikes.
