The Moscow Department of Transportation has increased the number of slow zones for personal mobility devices (PMDs). This was reported by the press service of the department.
The development of the initiative is aimed at improving the safety of PMD trips.
To improve the safety of trips this season, we have increased the number of slow zones in the city to 350. We are organizing them in recreation areas and on streets with heavy pedestrian traffic.
Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov noted that the popularity of e-scooters in the capital continues to grow. This season alone, PMDs have been rented 46 million times. This figure is 8 million more compared to the same period in 2023.
He also noted that employees of the Moscow Department of Transportation are monitoring compliance with traffic rules by PMD drivers. In case of violations, users are issued fines.
