Spectacular footage has emerged online showing the combat operation of the Russian Mi-35M reconnaissance-strike-transport helicopter of the army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces against concentrations of enemy equipment and infantry. The video was shown by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev explained that the pilots used 80-mm cumulative fragmentation unguided rockets S-8KOM in the cabriole mode. The helicopter is also equipped with 4 1.9-Mach 9M120-1 "Ataka-V" ATGMs with a range of 6000 m and armor penetration of 1100 mm without dynamic protection.
A semi-automatic laser-beam channel is used for their application, the emitter of which is integrated into the GOES-342 multispectral optoelectronic module.
