The "Roselectronica" holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) plans to equip the nuclear icebreaker "Russia" (project 10500) with a telecomplex with high resistance to radiation. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
The new complex includes a video camera. It is capable of operating at an instantaneous gamma radiation of up to 2 mrad/hour or accumulated - up to 200 mrad.
The company's own-developed lens allows you to get color and black and white images with a resolution of at least 1,000 television lines at an ambient temperature of up to 120 degrees Celsius.
The camera will allow you to work in conditions of poor visibility due to the lamps. It was equipped with a new sealed housing.
The new development is more effective than analogues, which quickly fail under the influence of radiation when monitoring the operation of the reactor compartment of icebreakers.
Small dimensions and optics with gamma-radiation-resistant lenses allow the system to accurately monitor the processes occurring in the danger zone and quickly make decisions in the event of emergency situations. At present, the company is ready to offer such radiation-resistant complexes for the 22220 project icebreakers under construction.
It is worth noting that for the nuclear icebreaker "Russia" earlierdeveloped a new technology for the production of titanium pipes with spiral fins and with a fine-grained ultrafine regulated structure.
