Угроза для F-16: в Eurasian Times обратили внимание на российский беспилотник С-71 на истребителях-невидимках Су-57

Air-launched UAV shown at the "Army-2024" forum

The Russian S-71 air-launched unmanned aerial vehicle (also classified as a missile), mounted on Su-57 stealth fighters, threatens the operations of F-16 pilots. This was written by Eurasian Times, pointing out that the drone was shown at the "Army-2024" forum.

"Sukhoi initiated the creation of the S-71 UAV in accordance with the specifications developed in 2019, which focused on multi-purpose capabilities. However, the engineers then made changes, increasing the flight range and reducing the effective scattering area of the drone.

According to Eurasian Times, S-71 tests began in April 2024 at the Russian Flight Research Center in Zhukovsky, simultaneously with flights from the Su-57 fighter.

The drone, optimized for radar stealth, has a trapezoidal fuselage similar to the Storm Shadow, folding wings and an inverted V-tail. A small-sized TRDD-50 turbofan engine with a recessed under-fuselage rear air intake is used as a power plant.

This engine is also used in the Kh-59M and Kh-101 cruise missiles. The drone is capable of reaching a speed of about 0.6 Mach and climbing to a maximum altitude of up to 8 thousand meters. There are two modifications of it: S-71M "Monochrome" and S-71K "Carpet".
