Первые двигатели для «Ангары-А5М» РД-191М передадут Центру Хруничева до конца 2024 года

First Launch Using RD-191M Engines Scheduled for 2027

At the Army-2024 military-technical forum, Igor Arbuzov, General Director of NPO Energomash, announced that the company will deliver the first RD-191M engines for the modernized Angara-A5M launch vehicle to the Khrunichev Center, the manufacturer of these rockets, by the end of 2024.

The RD-191M was developed specifically for the first stage of the modernized Angara-A5M heavy-class launch vehicle, which will be 10% more powerful than the regular Angara-A5 version. Ground-based experimental testing of the engine is in its final stages, and all major refinement tests have been successfully completed, confirming the necessary parameters. The engine was developed in a digital format, which confirmed the high reliability of the design and production.

The first launch of the modernized rocket using the RD-191M engine is scheduled to take place from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in 2027.

In addition, NPO Energomash is creating a unique RD-171MV, which will be the most powerful liquid-propellant rocket engine in the world. Weighing 10 tons, its thrust is 800 tons. This engine will be used in the first stage of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle, and previous modifications of the RD-171 and RD-171M were used in the Energia-Buran and Zenit programs.
