A chum for the indigenous small peoples of the North, which operates on the principle of "smart home" technology, has been developed in the Krasnoyarsk Krai. It was presented by the head of the "Ayan" project office, Nikolai Aprosimov. According to him, the project is aimed at modernizing the traditional housing of the Evenks, which has remained unchanged since the 19th century.
The chum is equipped with satellite communications with Internet access and a voice assistant that controls heating, lighting and can notify emergency services.
Residents of such a "smart chum" will also be able to use quadcopters to monitor reindeer grazing, use telemedicine services, the "Gosuslugi" portal and learn their native language. Thus, indigenous people will have access to modern technologies and services while in remote locations.
The President of the Association of Indigenous Minorities of the North (КМНС) of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Artur Gayulsky, emphasized that the modernization of living conditions is an important step in improving the lives of indigenous peoples and will help reduce youth outflow, as well as create new opportunities for doing business among the indigenous small peoples of the North.
