The Rostec State Corporation will present the latest Pantsir-SMD-E air defense system with a combat module without automatic guns at the Army-2024 forum. This was announced by Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of the State Corporation.
"Pantsir-SMD-E" is a development of our "High-Precision Complexes." It differs from the well-known "Pantsir" in its new combat module without automatic guns. That is, it is precisely an anti-aircraft missile system in its pure form.
A representative of the Tula Instrument Design Bureau (KBP, part of the High-Precision Complexes holding of Rostec), which developed the complex, noted that it can be installed on the roofs of buildings due to its reduced weight.
It is specifically designed to protect civilian, military facilities, and administrative buildings, as the weight has been reduced, and installation on the roofs of buildings for protection is possible. A special feature is remote control, with one operator handling the control. It can be located, for example, in a bunker, at a distance of up to 500 m, and control is carried out via fiber optics.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Corporation added that the forum will also showcase short-range intercept missiles designed to engage drones, including small ones.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces began using a new type of missile to engage the enemy. They fly significantly further and are twice as accurate thanks to the built-in motor.
