Russian Minister of Transport Starovoit: Air Transportation Volume Increased

From January to July 2024, Russian airlines transported 62.9 million passengers, which is 6.4% more than in the same period in 2023. This was announced by Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit, summing up the interim results of the tourist season. According to him, by the end of the high season, an increase in air transportation volume of up to 7% is expected.

A program for subsidizing air travel for residents of the Kaliningrad region has been in effect since May 1. It is expected that by the end of the year, about 4 million passengers will be transported under 3 flight subsidy programs.

According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, from May 1 to September 30, Russian Railways (RZD) will transport about 11.5 million passengers to the resorts of the Black Sea coast. At the same time, more than 14.5 million tickets were put on sale.

In the current season, the passenger flow to Crimea increased by 6.9% compared to 2023. Up to 2.8 million people will travel to the peninsula by trains.

In the first 7 months of this year, almost 900 thousand passengers traveled across the Crimean Bridge, which is 17% more than in 2023. The time for inspecting cars has been reduced to 6 minutes, and buses - to 15 minutes.

At the same time, transportation by rivers within Russia increased by 9.7%. The number of passengers who used water transport reached 2.74 million people.
