The Omsk Transport Machine-Building Plant (Omsktransmash, engaged in the design and manufacture of prototypes and small series of military engineering equipment of various types, repair and modernization of equipment) has sent T-80BVM tanks with new anti-drone protection to the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by the press service of Uralvagonzavod.
The plant has developed and installed a structure that protects the engine-transmission compartment and the rear of the tank turret from UAVs, shaped-charge grenades and guided missiles.
Additional protection has increased the survivability of the combat vehicle.
The T-80BVM surpasses Western tanks in terms of its technical characteristics, including maneuverability, handling, and speed. Thanks to the special design of the exhaust system, tanks with a 1250 hp gas turbine engine are considered the quietest - they are practically inaudible.
