About Project 12700 "Alexandrite"

The ships of Project 12700, which are being built at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant (part of the USC), belong to a new generation of mine-sweeping forces and are designed to locate and destroy naval mines. The minesweepers are distinguished by their maneuverability and reduced magnetic field due to the use of fiberglass for the hull.

  • endurance — 10 days
  • armament: AK-306 anti-aircraft gun, MANPADS "Igla 1" or MANPADS "Verba"
