The company «Avtorebord» has started working on a combined travel system for the strategic missile system «Topol-M». This was announced by the head of the company, Igor Shturman.
The design for the heavy-duty wheeled chassis MAZ-MZKT-79221 (used in «Topol-M») will be equipped with an additional beam to increase friction, three bogies and elongated wheels.
The mass of the «Topol-M» missile system, together with the combined travel system, will not exceed the standards for axial load on the track. The three bogies will be transported on accompanying vehicles.
The design solution is currently under consideration by the initiator.
It is worth noting that the company «Avtorebord» has been developing its own technology of attachments for the transition of wheeled transport to rails for six years. The technology has been tested on tractors, trucks and cars.
