ГК «Росатом» откроет на территории СПбПУ лабораторию водородной энергетики

The laboratory will be operational this fall

The machine-building division of the state corporation (SC) Rosatom and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University will open a hydrogen energy laboratory this fall, the corporation's press service reported.

The laboratory for studying chemical technologies for projects in the field of hydrogen energy using digital solutions will be located on the territory of SPbPU, on an area of 125 sq. meters.

The laboratory will use the latest equipment of Russian production. Researchers will be able to develop kinetic models of catalytic processes, including the production of hydrogen and derivatives based on it.

In 2022, Rosatom State Corporation approved the Strategic Program for the Development of Hydrogen Energy. Projects for the production of hydrogen in Sakhalin are being implemented, and a test complex for the production of hydrogen at the Kola NPP is operating.

Other developments of the corporation cover the entire hydrogen chain, including production, storage, transportation, CO2 capture, creation of materials for fuel cells and electrolyzers.
