Усилители сигнала: в Ростехе разработали лампу бегущей волны для спутников «Экспресс-РВ»

Satellites with such amplifiers will be able to provide Internet access on the Northern Sea Route and at the North Pole

The Roselectronica holding of Rostec State Corporation has developed an innovative traveling wave tube for Express-RV broadband Internet satellites.

The new tube features improved characteristics, lower weight (less than 1.2 kilograms), compact dimensions and a long service life (150 thousand hours). It consists entirely of domestic components and will operate in the C/Ku frequency band.

Traveling wave tubes for Express-RV satellites have two-anode control, which allows flexible adjustment of the product and regulation of its power modes in a wide range.

The device is fully compatible with other NPP Almaz products for space, such as microwave path elements – switches and transitions. The device has been successfully tested.
Mikhail Apin, General Director of NPP Almaz

Traveling wave tubes are key elements of communication satellites, capable of significantly amplifying the signal power and ensuring a long service life. NPP Almaz has developed more than 40 types of such tubes for spacecraft and manufactured more than 1.5 thousand products, their total operating time in space has exceeded 36 million hours.

The device has been successfully tested, and a serial sample will be demonstrated at the Army-2024 forum.
