Что такое «мохнатка» у танка Т-90

Vegetation camouflage masks the tank from NVGs and thermal imagers

The Russian army uses T-90 tanks, which are quite formidable fighting vehicles on the front lines. However, modern combat conditions require not only camouflage paint as an element of disguise, but also the use of "Mokhnatka" - a fabric camouflage with vegetation.

This camouflage first appeared during a demonstration in 2013. However, in practice, the tasks of "Mokhnatka" are even broader; it masks the vehicle in the thermal spectrum, imitates the texture of vegetation, and serves as an additional means of camouflage.

Thanks to it, the tank in ambush becomes almost invisible to night vision devices and thermal imagers. This is crucial when carrying out strikes from ambush or attacks at night.

Combined with panoramic and digital sights, the T90 crew is capable of firing at long distances while remaining virtually undetected. And when the enemy determines the direction of the strike, they can quickly leave their position.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia may return to creating a fifth-generation vertical takeoff aircraft.
