Western Army TACtical Missile System (ATACMS) ballistic missiles have become the main enemy at the forefront for the Russian Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). The specifics of countering the missiles were named by the installation commander with the call sign "Strelets."
According to him, these are missiles that are launched from multiple launch rocket systems.
Recently, they have started flying more often; if before they were launched mainly at night, now it happens both at night and during the day. We are working as usual, hitting everything successfully. I can't count, but in the last month our crew has shot down three ATACMS missiles.
"Strelets" noted that the enemy used to use false targets along with ATACMS. Now they are practically not used due to the cost, comparable to full-fledged missiles.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian military has learned to fight against anti-aircraft ambushes. The Khibiny electronic warfare system also helps with this.
