AvtoVAZ, along with its subsidiaries, is halting car production for three weeks. The company is going on a corporate vacation from July 29 to August 18. During the downtime, numerous works are planned to modernize equipment.
Insiders report that the LADA Vesta welding shop is planned to be prepared for the assembly of LADA Aura, which will begin assembly in September. The plant is also adjusting equipment in the painting shop. This concerns the areas of formation and delivery of special kits to the assembly line.
It is also planned to improve the stands for testing finished cars. In addition, work will be carried out on the LADA Niva SUV assembly line. They will affect engine production.
The plant will handle maintenance of the air conditioning system, renovate auto component warehouses, as well as update showers, restrooms, and locker rooms.
At the assembly site in Izhevsk, the body painting booth will be updated, and at the AvtoVAZ subsidiary "VIS-Avto", a painting complex will be prepared for launch.
