The company "MBS-Technology" has created a set of reagents for DNA analysis from a crime scene. They will replace foreign analogs, according to the company's director, Olga Naumenko.
To determine a person's identity, 22 markers are needed. They make it possible to establish the quality of DNA.
This sequencing tool is very expensive, and we have developed reagents that allow us to characterize DNA, because if it is of poor quality, it cannot be sequenced. The reagents also allow us to determine whether it is female or male DNA. One set allows us to determine all these characteristics in a sample.
According to the head of the company, foreign reagents were previously used in forensics. The new development will allow import substitution with domestic analogs.
