The Russian company "Newman Technologies" has developed a wristband to stop bleeding from the radial artery. This was announced by the project leader, Dmitry Ognerubov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, during the "Archipelago-2024" project-educational intensive.
The polyurethane wristband is equipped with air cushions. It is fixed on the wrist with Velcro. The device stops bleeding from the radial artery after cardiac surgery.
The innovation will eliminate the need to check the condition of the radial artery every hour. This distinguishes the wristband from foreign devices with similar functionality.
We are currently conducting a pilot study at City Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after N.I. Pirogov, and this work is two-thirds completed.
The developers have already received a registration certificate for the product. Preliminary studies have shown that the wristband reduces the frequency of thrombus formation fivefold.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian scientists developed a drug that stops bleeding in 15 seconds.
