Modernized Ka-27M helicopters have entered service with the 289th Separate Composite Aviation Regiment in Primorye. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet (TOF).

The aviation regiment is currently actively mastering the newly commissioned modernized Ka-27M anti-submarine helicopters.

The Ka-27M is a modernization of the Ka-27PL helicopter and is designed for anti-submarine warfare. It can be deployed on board large surface ships, including aircraft carriers such as the "Admiral Kuznetsov".

The modernized Ka-27M received a new complex of onboard radio electronics and avionics: a radar command and tactical system (RCTS) integrated with the FHA-type radar ("Kopye-A") manufactured by JSC "Fazotron-NIIR", a magnetometer, radio reconnaissance equipment, and a radio-hydroacoustic subsystem.
