«RESHEТNEV» spoke about how the new spacecraft of the «Gonets-M1» group, which are currently at the stage of releasing design documentation, including payload equipment, will differ.
«Gonets-M1» has:
- a new non-hermetic platform capable of withstanding up to a ton of cargo. Its design allows for the group launch of satellites into orbit;
- an active phased array antenna that will provide high-speed communication and transmit significantly more information compared to previous generation satellites;
- three frequency bands: P, S, and C. According to Reshetnev employees, the S and C frequency bands are being used for the first time as part of spacecraft in a multifunctional personal satellite communication and data transmission system.
The orbital constellation of the modernized «Gonets-M1» system will include 28 satellites. From an altitude of 1,500 km above the Earth, they will provide high-quality telephone services in Russia and data transmission in the global service area.
