KMZ Upgraded Nutrunners for Reactor and Steam Generator for Kursk NPP-2 Project

Experts also replaced foreign software with Russian software

The military-industrial holding company "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ) has entered into an agreement with FSUE "Kombinat "Elektrokhimpribor" to bring the nutrunner of the main connector of the reactor and the nutrunner of the flange connectors of the steam generator to the requirements of the Kursk NPP-2 under construction. The holding fulfilled the requirements of the agreement by modernizing the equipment.

KMZ employees also replaced the software of the stud tension measurement system of the main reactor connector. They installed additional modules to expand the communication capabilities of the main nutrunner controller.

Specialists developed and replaced the control programs of the nutrunner automatic control system. The foreign visualization system (SCADA) was replaced with a Russian one. This was done as part of the import substitution program for software.

The nutrunner for the flange connectors of the steam generator has undergone even more extensive modifications. In addition to the development and replacement of the measurement system software, a complete replacement of the control automation has been carried out.
