Under the Roscosmos State Corporation's "UniverSat" program, the group of small satellites developed by Bauman MSTU will be expanded. At the MSTU Youth Space Center, students are preparing new devices for experiments in Earth orbit and the study of space weather.
The satellites will have a payload for helio-geophysical research and the study of space weather. It is also known that individual technological experiments will be tested on them.
The "Yarilo" CubeSats numbered 1-4 are initially intended for measuring solar energy reflected from the Earth's surface (Earth's albedo) and measuring the Earth's magnetic field along three axes. The "Khors" satellites 1-2 were intended for studying galactic cosmic rays, as well as for demonstrating the operation of a high-frequency plasma propulsion system.
Earlier, at the end of 2023, small satellites developed by Bauman MSTU, equipped with automatic identification system (AIS) equipment, confirmed the possibility of their use in the interests of the Russian maritime and river fleet during flight tests.
