Specialists from JSC "Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies" (KRET, part of the Rostec State Corporation) presented a model of the "Sapphire" electronic warfare (EW) system at the "Innoprom" exhibition in Yekaterinburg. It is designed to protect objects of state administration, transport infrastructure and industrial enterprises.
The complex can be placed in a densely built-up urban area or near factories. It recognizes all types of UAVs, including micro-drones weighing up to 250 g, as well as homemade products.
After detecting a drone, the "Sapphire" creates interference that blocks control and data transmission channels to the operator, and suppresses their on-board satellite navigation equipment. The complex operates in a wide frequency range: from 300 MHz to 6 GHz.
