Specialists from JSC "Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies" (KRET, part of the Rostec State Corporation) presented a model of the Sapphire electronic warfare (EW) system at the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg. It is designed to protect objects of state administration, transport infrastructure, and industrial enterprises.
The system can be placed in a densely built-up urban area or near factories. It recognizes all types of UAVs, including micro-drones weighing up to 250 g, as well as homemade ones.
After detecting a drone, Sapphire creates interference, blocking control and data transmission channels to the operator, and suppresses their onboard satellite navigation equipment. The system operates in a wide frequency range: from 300 MHz to 6 GHz.
