Russian military personnel at the forefront have begun using the advanced Thorn-MDM tactical electronic reconnaissance system.
Thanks to passive receiving antenna modules on telescopic masts and an aperture of eight radio interferometric receiving antenna posts distributed across the area, Thorn operators are capable of identifying, conducting electronic reconnaissance, and deciphering a wide range of voice communication radio stations and data exchange terminals operating in the frequency range from 1.5 to 3000 MHz.
The system is capable of detecting, within a 35 km radius, both portable radio stations on the ground and terminals of the network-centric network "Link-16", as well as transmitting modules of video images and telemetry information from unmanned aerial vehicles to enemy combat control points.
In addition, the device's antenna modules are capable of detecting Wi-Fi devices and portable GSM/4G stations.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the boats of the Russian military at the forefront received anti-drone visors. The protection is a metal mesh stretched over a frame of pipes welded to the boat's hull.
