Новый рамный пикап Sollers ST8: появились подробности об автомобиле

Its production in Russia will start in the fourth quarter of 2024

The Sollers ST8 frame pickup (a clone of the Chinese JAC T8) will be produced in Russia using a full cycle. The car will have an attractive and competitive price. This was announced by Zoya Kaika, Deputy General Director of Sollers, at the Innoprom-2024 exhibition.

Locally produced engines and gearboxes will be used immediately, in particular.
Zoya Kaika

According to her, the car will be equipped with a two-liter diesel engine, which is assembled in Yelabuga. The car will also have a six-speed manual gearbox from the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant.

The top manager of Sollers denied information that the pickup truck would cost more than three million rubles. She called these reports speculation. Kaika emphasized that the localization of car production would give the plant advantages in terms of price positioning. Sollers intends not only to sell the pickup truck in Russia, but also to export it to the markets of other countries.

The pilot batch of pickups will be produced at the end of 2024. They will be assembled at the UAZ site in Ulyanovsk (UAZ is part of PJSC Sollers) using a full cycle technology.

The launch of production of the new Sollers model in Ulyanovsk will be a strategically important step both for the development of the UAZ industrial site and for further increasing Sollers' capacity for the production of highly localized commercial vehicles with a frame structure.
Nikolay Sobolev, General Director of PJSC «Соллерс»

Sales of the frame pickup should start in the first quarter of 2025.
