Launchers of mobile ground missile systems (PGRK) "Yars" ("Nuclear Deterrence Missiles") of the Teikovo and Irkutsk missile divisions of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) went on combat patrol routes as part of the exercises. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The "Yars" units will march up to 100 km. The servicemen will practice actions to disperse units with a change of field positions and their engineering equipment. The plans also include practicing camouflage, combat security of the PGRK, and combating saboteurs.
Planned combat training activities allow improving the training of personnel, the coherence of formations and military units of the Strategic Missile Forces.
The department added that similar exercises will be held in other missile formations.
"Yars" is a Russian strategic missile system with a solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) of mobile and silo-based basing, which was developed by specialists from the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology (MIT). Military expert Igor Korotchenko calls it one of the elements of Russia's nuclear triad.
