«Кит-убийца» на охоте: в России появится передовой БЭК «Касатка»

KB "Spektr" and the "Fortuna" Detachment to Test the Unmanned Boat "Kasatka" in July

The "Spektr" Design Bureau (KB) and the 15th Marine Engineering Detachment "Fortuna" will conduct tests of the unmanned boat (BEC) "Kasatka" in July. The boat tests with a payload of up to 10 kg will be carried out with the assistance of "Ascon", which developed the Russian automated design system "Kompas-3D".

Andrey Bratenkov, Executive Director of "Spektr", noted that the BEC will be able to reach speeds of up to 35 knots, and the range of the marine drone will be 15 km.

Our task is to create a platform that can be used and scaled, for example, for the needs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Conditionally speaking, if a pleasure boat is in distress, then with the help of "Kasatka" it would be possible to quickly deliver lifebuoys or an inflatable raft to the scene.

In addition, "Kasatka" can be used for military purposes. The device, with the engine turned off to save fuel, is able to drift with the current and conduct surveillance. It can also carry a warhead for strikes.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Caspian Flotilla will include the missile boat "Stupinets". It is designed to destroy enemy combat surface ships, boats and transports independently and in cooperation with the fleet's strike forces.
