Мысли как преступник: в Москве создадут цифрового охотника на серийных убийц

AI-based program will help model the time and location of future murders

The Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET) has begun developing a program with elements of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the time and location of future serial murders, according to the university's press service.

Specialists have started training the neural network using materials from 200-250 serial murder cases. The information is provided from the archives of law enforcement agencies.

As soon as we see signs of seriality, we enter all available data into the neural network, and it compares it with what is already available. It gives a forecast that the next murder in this series is likely to happen in such-and-such place and at such-and-such time.
Lev Bertovsky, Director of the Institute of High-Tech Law, Social Sciences and Humanities, MIET

The accuracy of the forecast will depend on the amount of data available and the computing power of the computer. While the program is still under development, the authors of the idea are counting on fixation.

The project is planned to be completed in two to three years. Data analysis will be carried out in Moscow and the Moscow region, and if successful, in other regions of Russia.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that in Russia, a neural network has been trained to recognize dangerous objects in images.
