A batch of highly protected K-4386 Typhoon-VDV fire support armored vehicles has been delivered to the troops. They will enhance the firepower of the air assault units of the Russian Armed Forces.
The author of the specialized Telegram channel "Russian Weapon" noted that the K-4386 "Typhoon-VDV" modification differs from the K-53949 by a single load-bearing armored hull, as well as the presence of a simplified version of the BM-30-D (32V01) "Spitsa" combat module. The armored vehicle received a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon, a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun. The combat module also has a sight with television and thermal imaging channels, and a laser rangefinder.
The 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon is capable of confidently penetrating the side armor plates of the M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley, CV90, and 1A3 Marder IFVs at a distance of up to 1500 m.
