Russian artillerymen, during a counter-battery "duel", hit a German 155-mm self-propelled howitzer PzH-2000 with a 203-mm self-propelled gun 2S7M "Malka" (it is being modernized at the site of Uraltransmash JSC, which is part of UVZ). They received the coordinates for firing from calculations of ZALA 421-16E HD and Orlan-30 UAVs. This was reported by the specialized Telegram channel "Russian weapons".
The "Malka" crew used standard high-explosive fragmentation projectiles ZOF43 with a range of 37,400 m. The soldiers made several sighting shots, after which they hit the PzH-2000.
The author of the publication noted that actively-rocket projectiles ZOF44 with a range of up to 47,500 m when firing from a 2A44 gun have great potential for counter-battery combat.
Another long-range gun with counter-battery potential in countering Western 155-mm artillery with 52-caliber barrel lengths is the 130-mm M-46 gun being removed from storage.
The Missile Forces and Artillery of Russia may have from 600 to 1000 such guns in storage, the expert summarized.
