A Russian serviceman with the call sign Dlіna destroyed an enemy FPV drone with a precise shot from an Orsis T-5000 rifle. The strike drone exploded in mid-air without causing any harm, the Ministry of Defense press service reported.
The department added that the snipers of the arctic unit are armed with classic special sniper rifles (VSS) "Vintorez", Dragunov sniper rifles (SVD), as well as "Orsis T-5000" with thermal imaging sights. Thanks to such sights, snipers hit targets with jeweler precision day and night at a distance of up to 1.5 km.
The author of the specialized Telegram channel "Russian Weapon" drew attention to the features of the Orsis T-5000 sniper rifle.
Key tools for early detection and engagement are modern short- and medium-wave thermal imaging sights, as well as frequency analyzers with antenna modules.
According to the reviewer, such modules have a narrow radiation pattern, which allows detecting the radiation of video image and telemetry information transmitters at a distance of more than 1,000 m, after which additional search is carried out using thermal imaging sights.
