A simulator for training in the operation of electrical equipment has been delivered to the Akkuyu NPP (Mersin Province), which is under construction in Turkey. It was manufactured by specialists from the All-Russian Research Institute for Nuclear Power Plant Operation. The simulator will help train Turkish and Russian nuclear scientists who will work at the facility.
The simulator sections are completely identical to the electrical equipment of the station, while its power circuits use voltage that is safe for personnel.
Sergey Butskikh, Director of Akkuyu NPP, said that the simulator will improve the skills of the electrical shop employees. Nuclear scientists will practice the skills necessary for work in conditions as close as possible to real ones.
In February 2023, Akkuyu Nuclear signed a contract with the Turkish construction company Ozaltin Inshaat for the construction of a residential town for the Akkuyu NPP personnel. Both Russian and Turkish nuclear scientists will live here.
