The Russian IT team "Segezha" (part of the Segezha Group holding) has created a new mobile application called "Mobile MRO" for checking the condition of technical equipment. The development allowed them to replace SAP WorkManager with a similar set of functions.
According to the application's author, the search for a replacement for SAP WorkManager began in 2024 when the foreign developer announced its final departure from the Russian market. However, similar programs could not be found. It was decided to create a domestic program with identical functionality.
The "Mobile MRO" application was first tested at the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill (Segezha, Republic of Karelia) and the Vyatka Plywood Mill (Kirov), after which it began to be used by other enterprises.
Functions not available in SAP have been added to the application: reading NFC tags with data on equipment inspections and repairs, identifying defects and equipment downtime, and recording employee working hours.
Considering all factors (price, timing, architectural complexity), we created our own unique digital solution with the potential to scale to related business processes, including inventory management, production accounting, and quality control.
The Segezha MRO system collects and processes data on the technical condition of equipment, taking into account completed repairs and maintenance. The application does not require an internet connection and automatically updates the TORO (electronic system for operational management and control of maintenance and repair work).
The new product has received positive feedback, allowing for reduced repair costs and equipment downtime.
