Scientists at Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU) have developed drones to increase crop yields by 20%, the university's press service reported.
The use of drones will reduce the use of resources and increase the efficiency of agricultural activities.
The use of a UAV hardware and software complex with a multispectral camera will increase crop yields by 10-20%, reduce the cost of fertilizers and plant protection products by 15-25%, and reduce water consumption for irrigation by 20-30%.
With the help of the camera, it is possible to monitor soil moisture levels, identify pests, and monitor the condition of crops. The authors of the idea believe that the device can be used by agricultural companies, agro-industrial complexes and scientific institutions.
Earlier www1.ru reported that more than 50% of farmers in Russia are interested in using agro-drones for land cultivation.
