Finland claims Iskra is made according to Renault's drawings

Leading Finnish automotive magazine Tekniikan Maailma claims that the LADA Iskra car is made according to drawings imported from Renault. Journalists of the publication believe that the new product from AvtoVAZ used the basic version of the CMF-B platform from Renault.

The Finns also insist that other design materials for Iskra could also have been borrowed from Renault. According to them, many technical solutions are compatible with the Dacia Logan.

Note that AvtoVAZ did not hide that Iskra is based on the platform, although VAZ employees emphasized that this platform was localized taking into account the suppliers available to the auto giant from friendly countries and Russia. Due to the high degree of import substitution at AvtoVAZ, they even renamed it from CMF-B to XJO,
