The small missile ship (MRK) "Stavropol" was launched in Tatarstan. It became the twelfth and last ship of Project 21631 "Buyan-M".
The launching ceremony took place in Zelenodolsk at the A. M. Gorky plant (part of the Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation).
Soon the ship will join the Baltic Fleet and will solve the tasks of ensuring security on the western borders, and if necessary, in other areas of the world ocean.
Each ship of the "Buyan-M" project carries a universal shipborne fire complex 3S14 for 8 Kalibr-NK cruise missiles. In addition to missiles, the ships of the series are armed with a Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system, six-barreled AK-630 installations of 30 millimeters caliber, an AK-176MA artillery installation of 76 millimeters caliber and machine guns.
Earlier www1.ru reported that by the end of the year, three ships and a submarine will join the Baltic Fleet in 2024.
