Самые большие в мире десантные корабли на воздушной подушке провели стрельбы на Балтике

Illumination projectiles fired from Cape Taran were used as targets

Small landing craft of the Baltic Fleet on the hovercraft "Evgeny Kocheshkov" and "Mordovia" of Project 12322 "Zubr" conducted artillery firing at sea and air targets. The press service of the Baltic Fleet reported on the successful completion of the firing.

During the firing, the ships used launchers of the "Ogon" system with a caliber of 140 mm. The artillerymen hit the coastline of a mock enemy. It was simulated by a special buoy field.

The ship crews also carried out artillery firing at air targets – illuminating artillery shells. They were fired from the Akatsiya howitzer, which was located at Cape Taran in the Kaliningrad region.

The ship's crew practiced loading equipment into the tank hold, and also "carried out the transfer and landing of a marine landing on an unequipped coast"

As a reminder, "Evgeny Kocheshkov" and "Mordovia" are the largest hovercraft landing ships in the world. It allows them to move not only on water, but also on land, including through ditches and trenches, minefields, and also to move through swamps.

The ships were built at the Primorsky Shipbuilding Plant. Their speed is 60 knots, cruising range is 300 miles, crew is 27 people. Length is 57.3 meters, width is 25.6 meters, draft is 1.6 meters. The ship "Evgeny Kocheshkov" was introduced into the Baltic Fleet in October 1990, "Mordovia" - a year later.
