The Russian military sphere requires technological renewal. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The head of state noted that Russia has already proven a high level of readiness and receptivity to technological changes. According to him, electronic commerce and the financial sector, as well as the spheres of public administration and transport services, have changed significantly.
Similar processes are beginning to unfold in the Armed Forces, where we also need a high pace of technological renewal. This is the most important, defining issue for our country.
Apparently, that is why the permanent Minister of Defense for the last twelve years, Sergei Shoigu, yielded his seat to the former Minister of Economic Development, Honored Economist of the Russian Federation, Andrei Removich Belousov. Experts discussed how the Ministry of Defense will change with the arrival of the "Godfather of all UAVs".
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia began modernizing the missile defense system. The new generation of the system will include advanced types of weapons that are not yet known to the public.
