Cards of the Russian payment system "Mir" are gradually starting to work in Azerbaijan. This was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin at the "Russia – Azerbaijan" session within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
We highly appreciate that "Mir" cards are gradually being accepted in Azerbaijan. We are grateful to our Azerbaijani friends for this approach, which greatly contributes to the development of tourism. This is very important for Russian tourists.
The diplomat clarified that Azerbaijani manats can be withdrawn using the "Mir" system card at VTB ATMs.
Earlier it became known that Russia and Thailand are in negotiations about accepting cards of the Russian payment system "Mir". However, it is too early to talk about specific integration dates.
