Просто посмотри: оплату «взглядом» запустят в метро шести российских городов

People will be able to enter the metro using biometrics registered in the Unified Biometric System

By the end of 2025, an "eye payment" service will be launched in six regional metro systems in Russia, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko.

The "eye payment" service is planned to be launched in six regional metro systems by the end of 2025. This summer, it will be possible to pay for metro access using biometrics in Kazan, and by the end of 2024 in Nizhny Novgorod.
Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister

Grigorenko clarified that citizens will be able to enter the metro using biometrics registered in the Unified Biometric System (UBS). This will allow regions to launch biometric payment in the metro without additional costs for creating their own digital infrastructure, which must meet strict data security requirements.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that interest in biometric technologies is growing significantly among Russians, as evidenced by the number of citizens who have already connected to the UBS.

To date, about 2 million citizens have proactively registered their biometrics in the system. Moreover, more than 55% of the total number of registrations were made in the first six months of 2024.

Earlier it became known that a biometric profile has appeared for 18 million Russians. The Ministry of Digital Development assumed that the biometric profile would help build a second identification system for Russians, which could work both online and offline.
