В Подмосковье ИИ начал охотиться на мотоциклистов без шлема: первые штрафы уже выписаны

Violators are recorded using photo and video recording systems with built-in AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been integrated into photo and video recording systems (PVRS) to recognize riding without a helmet on motorcycles. The first violations of this type of traffic rule were recorded in Balashikha, Moscow Region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region.

To train the neural network, specialists processed 1.5 million reference images from cameras. The goal of the solution is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents.

This functionality is being actively implemented on a larger number of photo and video recording systems, primarily on the "Azimuth 4" systems, 600 units of which were additionally installed on the roads of the Moscow Region in 2023.

AI checks for the presence or absence of a helmet on the driver's head, then the information from the PVRS is re-checked by traffic police officers.

It is noted that any doubtful cases are interpreted in favor of the driver, and only clear images are taken into account. Based on the data obtained, a decision is made to issue a fine, which amounts to 1 thousand rubles.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that AI will wean drivers off typing messages while driving.
