AvtoVAZ has finally shown the long-awaited novelty: the premiere of the LADA Iskra sedan took place at SPIEF. The car should take its place in the model range between Granta and Vesta.

What engines and gearboxes?

The basic configuration will receive a 1.6-liter engine and a five-speed manual gearbox. The same set as the LADA Granta. The mid-range configuration includes a 1.6-liter engine with 106 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox.

But the most interesting combination of engine and gearbox is, of course, the top version. It will have a 1.6-liter engine (106 hp) and a CVT. This combination is not available on any AvtoVAZ model. The 122-horsepower Vesta engine is not available for Iskra.

It is recommended to fill the car with 95-octane gasoline, but 92-octane will also be acceptable. The car will be assembled on the same line as the Granta.

The degree of localization of the car's production is not yet known. But Iskra will definitely receive Russian seats. Their production will be handled by TPV RUS. The first batch has already been shipped to AvtoVAZ.

What equipment?

Iskra does not have climate control, only air conditioning. The car will have heated windshield, heated front seats, electric mirrors, central locking, two airbags, multi-steering wheel, cruise control, rain sensor and parking sensors.

The instrument panel is old-fashioned analog, the ESP system is promised to be added to the car later, but this year, there is ABS and power steering. The promised panoramic roof will not be available. Maybe in the future.

What about prices?

The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, noted that Iskra could cost from 1 million rubles to 1.2 million rubles. But this is in today's realities. The editor-in-chief of the magazine "Za Rulem" Maxim Kadakov believes that by the beginning of sales, which are scheduled for 2025, the basic configuration may be offered from 1 million 150 thousand rubles.

AvtoVAZ plans to produce from 70 thousand to 100 thousand LADA Iskra cars next year. But these are not final figures. Maxim Sokolov emphasized that the auto giant will swing in the issue of producing the novelty. He did not rule out that production volumes may be less than заявленных.

How much will insurance cost?

Insurance Iskra with a 90-horsepower engine under OSAGO will cost for a 25-year-old driver with 5 years of driving experience – from 8276 rubles to 9695 rubles, depending on the region, calculated in Sovcombank Insurance. CASCO policy – from 42 thousand rubles to 44 thousand rubles.

If a 30-year-old driver with 10 years of driving experience comes to insure the car, then the OSAGO policy will cost him 16,930 rubles. This is the price at Ingosstrakh. CASCO in this insurance company will cost 32,500 rubles.

The top version of Iskra with a 106-horsepower engine in Soglasie will cost a 30-year-old owner 14 471 rubles, CASCO – 42 700 rubles.
