The cost of car maintenance in Russia has increased by 29% compared to last year. Now, the car owner pays an average of 9,400 rubles for such a procedure. Vadim Strelbitsky, Director of the Mechanical Repair Department of Avilon Kia, spoke about what you can save on when undergoing maintenance without compromising the car.
In his opinion, when replacing oil and fuel filters, it is better to buy original spare parts. The fact is that non-original parts may be of poor quality. Then you can't avoid problems with the engine or fuel system.
Strelbitsky notes that when buying an air filter, it is permissible to buy a non-original part, but you should not save too much.
You can safely take non-original lighting equipment: headlight bulbs, side lights and interior lighting bulbs. The same applies to windshield wipers. The expert emphasizes that it is better to focus on products that have already proven themselves in the automotive parts market.
Experts also recommend not saving on brake fluid, antifreeze and oil: both for the engine and in the gearbox.
